Kentucky Lake and Vicksburg Hotel Vintage Postcards
During my lunch break one day last week, my husband and I stopped by our favorite antique shop in Starkville, Boardtown Trading Post. Although we only had a few minutes to shop we still managed to find these fun vintage postcards.
10 Things you may not know about Kris Kristofferson
Recently my husband and I saw Kris Kristofferson on Austin City Limits and it reminded me of how much I love that guy. Not only is he an amazing songwriter, he is an all around bad ass. "Sunday Morning Coming Down" is one of my top 5 favorite songs. 10 Things you may not know about Kris Kristofferson: 1. Kris has been in Sports Illustrated. In college (the fifties), he was quite the Rugby, Boxing and Track and Field star, which landed him a spot in Sports Illustrated "Faces in the Crowd." 2. Kris was a Rhodes Scholar. 3. Kris...

Oh Ben, lets do this…
Some days I know I drive my husband crazy by emailing him links to so many pictures of home decor ideas, but we are new homeowners and that seems like appropriate justification. This isn't practical but I like it and I'm not really practical. Look Ben if we do this, everyone can spend the night. Update: If you like this tent, you will love this blog. Her boyfriend made this Christmas tent for her since their Christmas trip was canceled and they were snowed in. Isn't that...

DIY Valentines aka The Start of my Doily/Mod Podge Addiction
I know Valentine's Day has passed but I couldn't resist posting these cute Valentine's I made for friends. For this Valentine I used a Martha Stewart edge punch to create the lace look on the valentine. I made the envelope from this cute love paper that I downloaded from Paper Crave for free and the label is also a free download from Creature Comforts. I love free printables! I actually found both of these a while back and was...

Vintage Stamps
Filed under: Being Green, DIY, Things that make me happy, Wedding
I love the pretty vintage stamps we used on our wedding invitation envelopes so much. The envelopes we used for our wedding invitations were 100% recycled paper from Action Envelope. We used vintage stamps that I purchased on Ebay, for the invitations we sent to the wedding party, close friends and family. For all of the other guests, we used the new love stamps which were perfect. Since hiring a calligrapher didn't really fit into our budget and I had no intention of writing addresses on all of our invitations since my husband invited half of Starkville, we decided on using...
Ida Mae’s Birthday Cupcakes
My neighbor, Ida Mae turned 75 on last Sunday. Ida Mae is quite the character, hilarious and my favorite neighbor thus far. She casually mentioned to me earlier the previous week, on the way to Piggly Wiggly, that she had to hurry and get home because she had to clean off a spot on her kitchen table for all the presents she would receive for her birthday. I noticed her hint and made a mental note not to forget her birthday. On Ida Mae's birthday, I woke up earlier than I usually do and decided to make giant cupcakes.
