DIY Heart Shaped Crayons

This weekend, my best friend and favorite craft buddy Nikki and I made heart shaped crayons. This project was so easy and fun to make. I have a little niece who will love these for Valentine’s Day. They are perfect for little hands.
Supplies Needed:
- Crayons (Old broken ones work the best)
- Mold of some sort. We purchased this silicone one at Wal-Mart and it worked perfectly. I suggest using a silicone one because it is easier to pop them out of the mold once they harden.

We took off the paper, broke up the crayons, chose our color combinations and filled the mold.
Put your mold onto a cookie sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes at 150 degrees.

This is how they look straight out of the oven.
Make sure everything is melted and let them cool a few minutes. Once the mold has cooled, put it into the freezer for about 20-30 minutes or until solid.

The crayons should be solid when you take them out of the freezer.
Pop them out of the mold and enjoy!

These heart shaped crayons were so much fun to make.
Side note: On some blog we read they said to put cookie cutters on a cookie sheet instead of using a mold.

I would not suggest this method.
