10 things about My (Atlanta) Weekend

I love Atlanta.  I really do.

10 things about my (Atlanta) weekend:

  1. I love all the beautiful houses with pretty front yard flowers and plants, fun windows and doors and front porches made for lounging.  I especially love the Virginia Highland neighborhood of Atlanta.  Not just because some of my friends live there but that helps.

  2. Around the corner from my friend’s house is Paper Source.  I have loved Paper Source for some time now but mostly from online window shopping.   I seriously did not want to leave the store.

  3. We had a bridal dress appointment at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday.  This appointment was a first for me.  I bought my wedding dress online and it fit and didn’t need any alterations, so I was done.  This right of passage romantic movie moment was something special.  Katie may have found “the dress.”  Trying on dresses is harder than it looks and it seems like the goal is to find the floor with your feet through the layers and fancy fabric that these sample sized dresses tend to demand.  It was fun.  But the moment that I became that cliche friend since high school, happened when she walked out of the dressing room away from me and I was able to see how amazing she looked in “the dress.”   I cried.  I cried more than a little and almost made her cry.  Then I had to walk away because I was so embarrassed that I cried in a freaking bridal boutique.  I wasn’t prepared I guess.

  5. I love that Georgia has the lottery.  Save your comments because I don’t care if you are bothered by my love of gambling.  If you were as lucky at scratch off cards as I am then you would love it as well.  That being said, I didn’t win the lottery this weekend, but Nikki did!  Nikki won $28 dollars which helped her justify oxfords from Urban Outfitters.
  6. We went shopping!

    My necklace is pretty.

  7. Chat Roulette is scary, but make it a drinking game and suddenly random naked people seem less scary.  (Drink every time you see someone naked, after hitting next of course!)
  8. I love going on trips with my husband.  Ben and I slept on a twin air mattress on top of a full air mattress and it was better that way.  He is so wonderful.  I love being married.

  9. On Sunday we stopped by my friend Amber’s crawfish block party.  I do not eat crawfish but we could not resist a party on our way out of town.  I had to leave when I realized that they were about to boil live crawfish.  It did not occur to me that this is how they are cooked.  Holy shit that is horrible.  (No offense Amber)
  10. Two notable non-Atlanta weekendish happenings:  My little brother turned 24 (i mean 25, thanks Brittany!) on Sunday.  Happy Birthday Drew!  Zoe’s birthday is today.  She is 7, which makes me feel old.  Zoe is my little impulse buy who warms my heart.

I think she is quite the funny little dog with tons of personality. I love making her wear clothes!
