I am real into these flats.  I love comfortable shoes, especially when they are cute.   I also love that you can fold them up and put them into your purse.  Any of these colors will do really. These Tieks are quite lovely.  Read about why they are so great

A couple weekends ago, my friend Katie Doughty and I pulled an all nighter crafting these pretty Bridal Luncheon Invitations for our friend Katie Murphey's upcoming Bridal Brunch.   I am pretty happy with the result. We  designed and printed these at my house, cut the cardstock and cardboard with my new paper cutter and sewed them together.  Once that was done,  all we had to do was punch the holes and tie on the ribbon.  It sounds easy but actually took quite a bit of time and patience.   For...

Last night my friend Nikki and I made fun decorations for her boyfriend Michael's birthday party this weekend.   I was in charge of pinwheels. Paper Pinwheels are so easy to make and are really cute party decorations. Supplies: tissue paper, sheet music or any brightly colored paper bone folder (optional, but it makes folding easier) stapler or double sided tape (I suggest a stapler) small piece of cardboard hot glue gun Directions: Determine how many sheets you will need based on the size of the paper you have and what size pinwheel you want to ...

Yesterday I felt the urge to bake.  I decided to make muffins using leftover cereal that was starting to turn stale  and some bananas that were turning brown.  I have made these cereal muffins a million times (my mom always made these for me when I was younger) but I have never added bananas.  I was pretty pleased with the result.  These muffins are easy to make and pretty hard to mess up. Ingredients: 1 egg 1/4 cup vegetable oil 1/2 cup milk 1/4 cup honey (I had to use 1  cup sugar + 1/4 cup water  instead because...

This past weekend, my sweet husband surprised me with a date to the Jackson Zoo while on our way to his show with The Devil, You and Me  at The Boxer and the Barrel in Houma, LA.   Since the trip takes about 5 and 1/2 hours, Ben decided to surprise me by stopping at the Zoo to stretch our legs.  It was really fun and romantic.  Ben knows how much I love a zoo.  He is such a great husband. After the Jackson Zoo, we went to the Eudora Welty Home.  Unfortunately you must...

This past Saturday was The Prairie Arts Festival in West Point, Mississippi and it was a blast.  I really enjoyed my first arts festival experience.  Overall I would say our booth was a success but we didn't sell all of our items.  For whatever reason, people seemed to be buying more yard art and polka dotted painted trash cans.  Also our booth was really close to the gospel stage which made it hard to talk to customers or to avoid the day long headache associated with standing near speakers.  But those were my only complaints.  I loved being a vendor,...

It's all happening.  Or at least the Prairie Arts Festival is happening tomorrow, September 4th.  For the past couple of weeks, I have had entirely too much spray glue in my life.  That being said I am happy with the notebooks and journals I have made recently.  My new notebooks and journals are way better than the first ones I made, so that is exciting. Here is a tiny preview of what you can expect from my corner of our booth.
